Thinkpad X61 Tablet Review
Thinkpad X61 Tablet Review from TonyTech Tony. Good Laptop, horrible Company, the laptop is great, lenovo is horrible. First the good points: The build quality of this laptop is absolutely fantastic. Its a very solid unit and doesnt feel cheap. The performance is very good and its very lightweight. I great laptop for travel.
The bad points: Lenovo’s pre-installed software apps and their customer support absolutely ruins the experience of this laptop. Lenovo provides lousy software that comes pre-installed. A program called “System Update” basically rendered my computer useless after it updated all the Thinkvantage stuff. The blue Thinkvantage button didnt work, the hotkeys didnt work, my wireless didnt work, the tablet buttons didnt work, and my computer went from taking about 2 minutes to boot to taking about 10 minutes to boot. So I had to get Lenovo customer support involved and they are not only rude but were absolutely no help at all. I was on the phone for hours and ended up getting transfered from one person to the next and no one could tell me how to fix it.
I read over and over about how bad Lenovo’s customer support is before I bought this laptop, but I figured “that wont happen to me.” Well it did, so I guess I can only blame myself. I ended up selling this and buying an HP.
