Lenovo IdeaPad Y430 14.1-Inch Review
Lenovo IdeaPad Y430 14.1-Inch Review from apples2apples. My Lenovo Y430, I bought this great little laptop for around $560 +tax when Circut City was going out of business. I love the portability of having a small laptop. It’s not as small as a mini, but with the 4GB RAM, Core 2 Duel Processor, 250 GB Hard Drive, and Vista Premium it’s well worth the additional size (14.1 in.) and weight (5#). Lenovo seems to offer some pretty nice x-warranties on the product – which I’m not usually a fan of, but for 3 years peace of mind I might just buy one. I bought the Lenovo because I understand Lenovo puts out a good product, and I couldn’t get a comparable computer for the price in any of the other brands.
The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because typing seems to be a bit awkward, the function keys seem to be in a different place – maybe just the delete key – but I’ve had to look when hitting delete and sometimes the backspace key. The R arrow key also seems to be a bit sticky, and I’m not a big fan of the way some of the newer computers scroll.
Overall I like my Lenovo really well, and I hope it holds up for me for a good long time. We have a Gateway, and HP, a Compaq, and a Dell – the only one I wouldn’t buy again is a Dell because our Dell went on the fritz around the one year mark, and couldn’t be fixed w/o spending more than we’d pay to replace it.
